But first...the back story. :) I'm a bit picture-obsessed, as anyone who knows me in the slightest can attest. I took each of my girls to the studio for pictures every single month of their first years. Now that they're a little older, I try to be more reasonable. We go in February (Rachael's birthday and a shot of all three of us plus my mom for HER birthday), December (Milly's birthday and Christmas pics, all at the same time) and July (exactly halfway between their half-birthdays...because I can't go ten months between pictures, they just change too quickly!)
So, as the half-birthday pics approached this year, I started looking for the perfect photo outfits. I like for them to be at least semi-matchy for pictures...something similar but in older/younger versions is ideal. But since Rachael grew out of toddler sizes, it's just hard to find things that are even similar for them any more! I lucked up last summer with sundresses at Old Navy, but no such luck this year. So I started looking online instead. I had seen some adorable embroidered pillowcase dresses, but was pretty sure that anything handmade and customized would be way out of my price range. Until I stumbled across Black Heart Cherry's store at Etsy. And just look at what I bought for them for way less than I'd anticipated (and never mind the horrible scan due to my dirty scanner bed):
Aren't they gorgeous?! Naturally, I mean my girls...but the dresses too! It's hard to see because of my horrible scan, but they're covered in little cherries and each girl has her initial on her chest, and they're tied with white ribbons at the shoulder. I loooove them, and they've both gotten so many wonderful comments on them. I told no fewer than five people about Black Heart Cherry just while we were in the mall to have the pictures made, and then even more after posting that picture on Facebook.And since I love her clothes SO much, I asked her if she'd be willing to host the first ever June Cleaver Would Be Shocked giveaway...and she said yes! :)
